The Minnesota Lawns to Legumes Program is a statewide initiative that helps residents convert portions of traditional lawns into pollinator-friendly habitat using native plants. The program is administered by the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) in partnership with Blue Thumb – Planting for Clean Water. The Milkweed Patch LLC sells a variety of Midwest native milkweed and fall blooming nectar plants that benefit monarch butterflies and other pollinators. Our plants are grown without pesticide or synthetic fertilizer. Only plants native to the Midwest are considered when our inventory is expanded.

Every one of their 300+ species of native wildflowers and grasses are straight-species (or non-cultivar), meaning they have not been bred by man for specific qualities, and thus are the absolute most natural and diverse plants you can find.
Morning Sky Greenery offers exclusively nursery grown stock. No plants are dug from the wild, with the exception of a limited number of plants acquired from rescue operations. Most of our seeds are either collected from our own nursery stock, or with landowner permission from local plants. We are careful not to deplete any area of its natural source of seed. Seeds we cannot collect ourselves are purchased from reputable wildflower and grass producers. Specific information about the origin of any of our seed and plant stock is available upon request.
